Trump Jr. Makes Holocaust ‘Joke’ (Audio)

Strengthens Campaign’s Connection to the White Nationalist ‘Alt-Right’ Movement 

Donald Trump, Jr., on a mission to convince the world the media is not treating his father fairly despite reporting the exact words he’s actually said, claimed journalists would “be warming up the gas chamber” if Republicans followed the same pattern of behavior as Hillary Clinton. In an interview with 1210 WPHT radio on Thursday the billionaire’s son said:

“The media has been her number one surrogate in this. Without the media, this wouldn’t even be a contest, but the media has built her up. They’ve let her slide on every indiscrepancy, on every lie, on every DNC game trying to get Bernie Sanders out of this thing. If Republicans were doing that, they’d be warming up the gas chamber right now.”

The gas chamber was the primary method of murder during the Holocaust. 

Today’s Holocaust joke comes on the heels of increasing support for Trump from the so-called “alt-right,” a pseudonym for the White Nationalists and Neo-Nazis. On Wednesday Media Matters reported Trump’s campaign accepted donations from white nationalist leaders, one of whom has said publicly that “‘Jews have to leave America’ because they are a ‘major cause’ of America’s problems.”

Earlier this week Trump’s nominee for Vice President, Indiana Governor Mike Pence, refused to call David Duke, former Imperial Wizard of the Ku Klux Klan “deplorable,” saying he was “not in the business of name-calling.”

Trump’s campaign has become inextricably linked with the White Nationalist/Alt-Right movement. In just the past month various Neo-Nazi groups have come forward in support of Trump. Some have targeted children via a Pokémon Go Nazi Challenge and many have praised Trump for “helping raise a lot of voices” in the Alt-Right. Hillary Clinton has even released an ad showing the myriad of connections between the Trump campaign and the White Nationalist/Neo-Nazi movement.
