RNC Spokesman Refers to ‘Deplorables’ as ‘Deportables’ in Hilarious Typo

Tweet Underscores Irony of Trump Response to Clinton’s Remarks Friday Night

Sean Spicer, the chief strategist and communications director for the Republican National Committee, tweeted a statement Saturday afternoon (above) from Donald Trump responding to Hillary Clinton’s remarks from Friday night, in which she referred to half of the GOP nominee’s supporters as “deplorables.”

But in a hilarious typo that underscores the sheer irony of Trump’s statement, Spicer mistakenly wrote “deportables” instead of “deplorables.” Trump has, of course, called for the deportation of 11 million undocumented immigrants in the US.

Nevertheless, in his statement Saturday, Trump accused Clinton of “showing bigotry and hatred for millions of Americans.”

Clinton partially walked back the remark earlier Saturday, saying she regretted saying “half” but also vowing to continue calling out “bigotry and racist rhetoric.”

Despite his many blunders, including attacking a Gold Star family, Trump called Clinton’s remark “the worst mistake of the political season.”

“How can she be President of our country when she has such contempt and disdain for so many great Americans?” Trump said. “Hillary Clinton should be ashamed of herself, and this proves beyond a doubt that she is unfit and incapable to serve as President of the United States.”
