Montel Williams Slams ‘Sleazy’ Pat McCrory: ‘Takes Some Balls to Use My Face in His Ads’

Conservative Actor Is Outspoken Anti-HB2 Activist

TV host and actor Montel Williams is a conservative, but he also supports the LGBT community and Hillary Clinton, and opposes Pat McCrory and North Carolina’s HB2, the governor’s law that targets the LGBT community, especially transgender people.

Williams has actively been opposing McCrory’s HB2 and other policies the governor supports, so was surprised to find himself in a campaign ad showing a police organization endorsing the first-term governor.

Williams took to Twitter, stating it “takes some balls” for McCrory “to use my face in one of his political ads.”

Williams, who is supporting McCrory’s Democratic challenger, Attorney General Roy Cooper, then issued a press release saying he is “disgusted” that McCrory “would have the audacity to use a clip of an interview Mr. Williams gave in a bold face attempt to put a black face on what is an indisputable record of bigotry.”

Williams is demanding an apology from McCrory’s campaign, and concludes by stating that McCrory’s campaign “is being run by one of the sleaziest political staffs working today, and this is just further evidence that sleazy candidates hire sleazy people.”
