UPDATING: Ted Cruz Says ‘Prayer’ and His ‘Own Conscience’ Have Led Him to Vote for Donald Trump

‘I Will Vote for the Republican Nominee, Donald Trump’

Despite nearly a year of increasingly bad blood between Ted Cruz and Donald Trump, the Texas Tea Party Republican Senator has just announced he will vote for the GOP nominee.

After many months of careful consideration, of prayer and searching my own conscience, I have decided that on Election Day, I will vote for the Republican nominee, Donald Trump,” Cruz said in a statement, which the Texas Tribune reported.

Cruz goes on to mention “six vital issues” where Trump’s “positions present a clear choice for the American people.”

Among them, the Supreme Court, Obamacare, energy, immigration, national security, and Internet freedom.
