Mike Pence Says ‘Donald Trump and I Are Both Going to Release Our Tax Returns’ (Video)

‘We’ll See’ When Pence Adds

Mike Pence says that he and Donald Trump will be releasing their tax returns. The Republican vice presidential nominee told NBC News’ Chuck Todd, at the end of the above just-released video, that he will be releasing his tax returns next week.

“Donald Trump and I are both going to release our tax returns,” Pence said. “I’ll release mine in the next week.”

Pence did not state how many years worth of returns he will be releasing. His Democratic counterpart, Senator Tim Kaine, has released ten years worth of tax returns.

Pence added that Trump will release his returns “at the conclusion of an audit,” something Trump has said consistently, despite the fact that the Republican presidential nominee has refused to provide letters or other documentation from the IRS that he actually is being audited. Even if he is, nothing prevents him from releasing his tax returns during an audit.

Todd challenged Pence, suggesting the audit’s conclusion “won’t be before the election.

Pence responded only, “We’ll see.”

Hillary Clinton has made three decades worth of her financial documents available. All of her tax returns since 1977 have been made public. Trump has not made any of his tax returns public.
