BREAKING: Charlotte Police Expected to Release Video of Shooting Death of Keith Lamont Scott

Announcement Comes 24 Hours After Widow Released Her Own Video

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police is expected to release video of the shooting death of Keith Lamont Scott, the 43-year old Black father of seven, according to multiple reports. Scott’s widow released video she personally had taken on her cell phone of her husband’s killing. That video calls into question the claim police have made that Scott was holding a gun and that they found it near his body.

CMPD Chief Kerr Putney had refused to release video taken by police dash and body cameras, while Charlotte Mayor Jennifer Roberts supports the release of the video.

Of note, Putney says he is releasing one dash cam video and one body cam video, calling in to question if there is more video, and if the video he is releasing has in any way been edited, and is it full and complete.

Hillary Clinton has been calling for CMPD to release the video:

Chief Putney is holding a press conference at 4:30 PM EDT.
