POLL: Trump Trails Bed Bugs, Bubonic Plague Among Black, Hispanic Voters

Survey Suggests GOP Nominee’s Recent Pitch to African-Americans is Falling on Deaf Ears

Donald Trump’s recent “outreach” to black Americans isn’t going over well, according to a new survey from Public Policy Polling. 

In fact, both African-American and Hispanic voters have a more favorable opinion of bedbugs, the bubonic plague, junk mail and middle seats on airplanes than they do of the GOP presidential nominee. 

MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow reported Monday night on the poll results — which the liberal-leaning PPP is set to release in full on Tuesday. 

The poll also found that 97 percent of black Americans have an unfavorable view of Trump, while 3 percent are unsure and a negligible number (delineated by a “scratch mark”) have a favorable view of the nominee: 

Maddow noted that Trump’s approval rating among African-Americans isn’t likely to go up in the wake of a new robocall from former Ku Klux Klan leader and Senate candidate David Duke supporting the nominee. 

“I don’t know if it’s possible for Donald Trump to actually poll lower than a scratch mark with a demographic in this country, but we may be about to find out,” Maddow said.
