Trump Adds 8 Women, 1 Man to All-Male Group of Economic Advisors, Treats Women as You Would Expect

Among the New Additions Named Are “Darlene,” “Carla,” “Kathleen,” and “Mr. Scaramucci”

After being mocked and derided for putting together a 14-person economic advisory council that included only men, 13 of them white, six of them named Steve, and none of them actual economists, Donald Trump on Thursday afternoon announced a list of an additional nine people that will be added to the Trump Economic Advisory Council.

Unsurprisingly, according to an actual economist, Justin Wolfers, they include no actual economists, leaving Trump’s team of 23 economic advisors without a single economist:

Wolfers is a University of Michigan economics professor, a New York Times contributing columnist, and a senior fellow at both the Brookings Institute and the Peterson Institute for International Economics.

Clearly, Trump decided to go out and find some women he could add to his team of advisors, but diversity and equality isn’t just about having more women on your team, it’s about how you treat them.

In his press release of new advisors’ biographies, Trump refers to the man, Anthony Scaramucci as “Mr. Scaramucci.” But the other new additions are referred to as “Darlene,” “Carla,” and “Kathleen.” Only one of the eight women is addressed with a term of respect. Judy Shelton is referred to as “Dr. Judy Shelton.”

But worse is again Trump’s choice in “advisors.”

Aside from none being actual economists, the choice of his entire team of “advisors” seems to be who can bring in more cash to his flailing campaign. The list is basically people who are donors to his campaign, or who could be.

But among them is serial liar Betsy McCaughey, who literally is responsible for the Obamacare “death panels” lie. Politico’s Dan Diamond posted a few tweets highlighting her record:
