Rubio Wins GOP Primary, Refuses to Commit to Serving Out Full Term if He Wins in November (Video)

Florida Republican Suggests Clinton’s Policies Bigoted

Marco Rubio just won the Republican primary, and will face Democratic U.S. Rep. Patrick Murphy in November to save his Senate seat. But if the Florida freshman GOP Senator wins re-election, the 45-year old says he doesn’t know if he’ll serve his full six-year term.

“No one can make that commitment because you don’t know what the future’s going to hold in your life personally or politically,” Rubio told CNN Tuesday.

His Democratic opponent quickly jumped on the opportunity to show voters his mettle, tweeting, simply, “I can.”

Rubio instead offered this promise: “I can commit to you this, and that is that if I am running to be a U.S. senator, I am fully prepared to allow the U.S. Senate to be the last political office I ever hold.”

Rubio, while running for president, also held one of the worst Senate voting records in Washington, fueling rumors he just did not want to be a Senator.

The Florida Republican, asked Tuesday about Donald Trump calling Hillary Clinton a “bigot,” would only say, “Democrats have been calling Republicans bigoted for a long time,” as if accurately depicting Republicans was somehow unfair.

“I think Hillary Clinton has a lot of problems,” Rubio continued. “I think she is corrupt. She is dishonest. Do I think some of the policies she stands for do harm minority communities? Absolutely.”

The anti-gay former Tea Party darling had promised, repeatedly, he would not run for re-election if he lost the Republican primary, which he did when he shut down his campaign on March 15. He used the Pulse anti-gay hate crime mass shooting terror attack as an excuse to flip-flop, entering the race for Senate ten days after the horrific attack.
