President Can Barely Keep Straight Face When Asked About Donald Trump’s Claims
President Barack Obama says the November general election will not be “rigged,” and reminded reporters that the federal government does not manage the elections process.Â
“I don’t even know where to start on answering this question,” President Obama responded when a reporter asked him to address Donald Trump’s claims that the election will be “rigged.”
“Of course the elections will not be rigged. What does that mean?,” President Obama, mocking the Republican nominee, said to a reporter who asked about Donald Trump’s claims, during a press conference at the Pentagon Thursday afternoon.Â
“If Mr. Trump is suggesting that there is a conspiracy theory,” he said, with emphasis, “that is being propagated, across the country, including in places like, Texas,” Obama continued, unable to keep a straight face any longer, “where typically it’s not Democrats in charge of voting booths, that’s ridiculous. That doesn’t make sense and I don’t think anybody would take that seriously.”
“If Trump is up 10 or 15 points on Election Day and ends up losing, then maybe he can raise some questions,” Pres. Obama continued. That doesn’t seem to be the case at the moment.”
“I’ve never heard of somebody complaining of being cheated before the game was over, or before the score was even tallied,” he said, with a wry smile. “My suggestion would be, you know, go out there and try to win the election.”
