Mike Pence Tells 11 Year Old Boy White Lie When Asked if His Job Is ‘Softening Up’ Trump’s Words

‘Sometimes Things Don’t Always Come Out Like You Mean’

At a Mike Pence rally in Raleigh, North Carolina Thursday morning an 11-year old boy effectively asked the Indiana governor if his job is to do damage control for his boss, Donald Trump.

“Good morning Governor Pence. My name is Matthew and I’m 11-years old and I’ve been watching you lately and I’ve been noticing that you’ve been kind of softening up on Mr. Trump’s policies and words. Is this going to be your role in the administration?”

The answer of course is, “Yes,” should Trump win the White House, which is an increasingly slim possibility.

But Gov. Pence was forced to offer a different answer.

Pence first tried to establish a relationship with the young man, telling the crowd, “this boy’s got a future.”

And then said, “I couldn’t be more proud to stand with Donald trump, and we are shoulder to shoulder in this campaign.”

Even though he insisted, “I promise you,” in actuality, Pence’s policies in a great many instances vary widely from those Trump has claimed.

“Sometimes,” Pence went on to say, “things don’t always come out like you mean.”

“We have different styles.”

Does that mean that Donald Trump doesn’t think Mexico is “not sending their best. They’re not sending you. They’re not sending you. They’re sending people that have lots of problems, and they’re bringing those problems with us. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people”?

The list of course is endless.

Pence then switches the conversation to motorcycles.
