Mika Brzezinski Calls for Mental Health Professional to Examine Donald Trump (Video)

‘It’s Time to Hear From Somebody in the Mental Health Community to Look at This Person’

After discussing Donald Trump’s latest inhumane act, tweeting about the shooting death of a 32-year old African American mother of four, Nykea Aldridge, as proof that “African-Americans will VOTE TRUMP!,” MSNBCs Mika Brzezinski Monday morning called for a mental health professional to examine the GOP nominee.

“Let’s just take this seriously at this point. At other stages, at other campaigns, a network might be snarky and, like, get a psychologist out,” Brzezinski noted. 

“I actually think it’s time to hear from somebody in the mental health community to look at this person who has been on television for months, and to give us a sense of what we have going on here. And, I’m sorry, let’s stop pretending. We’re dealing with someone who we can completely understand. And when you see somebody with problems, you know it. And there’s not anybody at this table who doesn’t think he has a problem. Let’s ask the question,” she demanded. 

Brzezinski’s co-host, Joe Scarborough, earlier in the segment had chastised his former pal, Donald Trump, for posting the exploitative tweet, asking, “What kind of sickness infects the mind?” 

What’s important to note is regardless of whatever mental health issues Donald Trump may or may not have, his racism, his Islamophobia, his misogyny, and his bigotry are his, and his alone. He owns all that. Using his possible mental health issues to excuse or ignore those beliefs is neither fair nor accurate.
