Former Mexican President: ‘I Apologize for Our President’ Inviting Trump to Mexico (Video)

Vicente Fox Blasts Trump and Current President of Mexico

A former president of Mexico, Vicente Fox, Wednesday morning apologized for his successor inviting and agreeing to a meeting with Donald Trump, which will be held later today.

“I really apologize for our president taking this step forward,” Fox told CNN’s “New Day.”

News broke late Tuesday night that the Trump camp was making arrangements for a last-minute trip to Mexico ahead of the GOP nominee’s scheduled speech later today on immigration.

“Trump is using Mexico, is using President Peña to push his sinking poll numbers,” Fox added. “I will not understand unless there’s an explanation to it,” Fox said, demanding Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto “take a very firm stand that he will reject and ask and commit” Trump “to apologize to all Mexicans here in Mexico and in the United States and that he withdraws all those stupid proposals of building a wall, putting together a trade war with Mexico, of limiting foreign investment into Mexico, of taxing imports to Mexico,” Fox said.

Fox called Trump a “false prophet that is just cheating everybody,” and labeled Wednesday’s visit to Mexico City “a desperate move.”

“Trump is using Mexico, is using President Peña to push his sinking poll numbers,” Fox added, speaking of the tremendously unpopular President Peña. “I really expect from him, as all 130 million Mexicans, all of our great brother Mexicans in the United States, an explanation from both, from President Peña and Trump himself.”
