Democratic Senator Whose Expertise is Consumers and Economics Slams Republican Nominee
Senator Elizabeth Warren took to Twitter after Donald Trump delivered a policy speech on economics that one top Republican economist characterized as a “hot mess.”Â
Warren, a former Harvard Law professor and expert scholar in bankruptcy law whose work led to the creation of the U.S. Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, slammed Trump, reminding him that the “American people are not dumb.”
Among her many criticisms: Trump’s “childcare plan gives billionaires w/ a nanny a tax break while millions of low-income households get nothing.”
She also took Trump to task for calling for fewer regulations, asking if the investment bankers at Bear Stearns, which failed in the 2008 financial crisis, needed “FEWER regs when they helped crash our economy?”Â
