Donald Trump: ‘The Second Amendment People Maybe’ Can Stop Clinton From Picking SCOTUS Judges (Video)
Republican Nominee Issues Thinly-Veiled Call for Violence
Donald Trump told North Carolina voters that Hillary Clinton will eliminate the Second Amendment if she is allowed to pick Supreme Court justices, unless “the Second Amendment people” stop her. It easily can be heard as a thinly-veiled call for violence against his Democratic opponent who is leading in the national polls by double digits, and even slightly in North Carolina.
“Hillary wants to abolish – essentially abolish – the Second Amendment. By the way, and if she gets to pick her judges,” Trump told supporters, who booed when he said Clinton wants to take away their civil rights, “there’s nothing you can do folks.”
“Although the Second Amendment people maybe there is, I don’t know.”
It’s unclear how Trump could be suggesting anything except violence.
Trump’s remarks are eerily reminiscent of comments made in 2010 by Republican senatorial candidate Sharon Angle, running against Senator Harry Reid. Angle suggested “Second Amendment remedies” may be needed if she lost the primary to “take Harry Reid out.”
