Clinton Responds to Trump Calling Her a ‘Bigot’ (Video)
Trump Accuses Hillary Clinton of Being ‘A Bigot Who Sees People of Color Only as Votes’
Wednesday night Donald Trump ramped up his attacks against Hillary Clinton while trying to increase his single-digit share of the African American vote, and Hillary Clinton wasted no time responding.

“Hillary Clinton is a bigot who sees people of color only as votes, not as human beings worthy of a better future,” Trump told supporters in Jackson, Mississippi.Â
“She doesn’t care what her policies have done to your communities,” Trump continued. “She has no remorse. She’s going to do nothing for Hispanics and African-Americans.”
So shocking were Trump’s remarks that one supporter sitting behind him gasped in shock. Video of her expression flooded social media:

Clinton responded quickly, calling in to CNN and telling Anderson Cooper Trump “is taking a hate movement mainstream.”

“Anderson,” Clinton began, “it reminds me of that great saying that Maya Angelou had, when someone shows you who they are, believe them the first time. And Donald Trump has shown us who he is. And we ought to believe him.”
Trump “is taking a hate movement mainstream,” Clinton continued. “He’s brought it into his campaign. He is bringing it to our communities and our country.”
“Someone who has questioned the citizenship of the first African-American president, who has courted white supremacists, who has been sued for housing discrimination against communities of color, who has attacked a judge for his Mexican heritage and promised a mass deportation force, is someone who is very much peddling bigotry and prejudice and paranoia.”
Clinton promised she “will have more to say about this tomorrow” when she speaks to supporters in Reno.
