‘Start Acting Like a President’: Obama Answers Question About Trump Receiving Classified Briefings
President Warns Presidential Candidates Must Act Like a President if They Want to Receive Classified National Security Briefings
President Barack Obama Thursday afternoon warned that while both major party’s nominees will be receiving classified national security briefings, they must act presidential if they want those briefings to continue. The president made his remarks during a press conference at the Pentagon.
“If they want to be president, they’ve got to start acting like a president,” President Obama said in response to a reporter’s question asking if he were concerned Donald Trump will be receiving those classified briefings. He also noted that while he would not publicly share the nature of the briefings, “they have been told these are classified briefings.”
“They’ve got to be able to receive these briefings and not spread them around,” he added:
