Watch: Donald Trump Tells GOP Convention His Evening Featuring Melania Speech Was ‘Unbelievable’

In Wake of Plagiarism Scandal GOP Nominee Says ‘We Have to Restore Law and Order’

Donald Trump, in an unusual move, addressed the entire Republican National Convention for a second night in a row, this time in a video message from Trump Tower in New York.

In what may be a poor choice of words following his wife Melania’s plagiarism scandal, Trump told GOP delegates Monday evening, featuring his wife, was “unbelievable.”

“Melania and I had such a great time last night, an unbelievable evening,” Trump insisted, despite the fact that what was truly unbelievable was Melania’s speech.

“I’ll never forget it,” Trump continued, as The Guardian reports. “It’s something I will never ever forget. With your vote today this stage of the presidential process has come to a close. This is a movement but we have to go all the way. I’m so proud to be the nominee for president. I look forward to sharing my thoughts on Thursday night. It’s an honor to be running with Mike Pence.”

“By the way, we are going to win the state of Ohio. And by the way we are going to win the presidency.”

“Have a fantastic evening, I’ll see you tomorrow night. I’ll see you on Thursday night, and we will win in November, thank you.”

Melania Trump volunteered to NBC News’ Matt Lauer she wrote her speech, parts of which were plagiarized from Michelle Obama’s 2008 address to the DNC, almost entirely by herself.

News reports now state a top-notch Republican speechwriter had been hired to write Melania Trump’s speech, but that version did not include the plagiarized passages.
