Trump Campaign Forced to Say It Doesn’t Support Comments of Advisor Calling for Clinton to Be Shot
Trump’s Veterans Outreach Advisor Doubles Down on Call for Hillary Clinton to ‘Be Put in the Firing Line and Shot for Treason’
Donald Trump’s veterans outreach advisor, a New Hampshire state representative and Republican delegate who has appeared on stage with the GOP nominee several times wants former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton shot for treason over her private email server and other issues he seems to think are true. Rep. Al Baldasaro’s comments were so striking the Trump campaign was forced to distance itself from them, saying the campaign does not support his views in that matter.
“I’m a veteran that went to Desert Shield, Desert Storm. I’m also a father who sent a son to war, to Iraq, as a Marine Corps helicopter avionics technician,” Baldasaro said Tuesday on Jeff Kuhner Show, as Buzzfeed reports.Â
“Hillary Clinton to me is the Jane Fonda of the Vietnam,” Baldasaro continued. “She is a disgrace for the lies that she told those mothers about their children that got killed over there in Benghazi. She dropped the ball on over 400 emails requesting back up security. Something’s wrong there,” he insisted, sounding a bit like Trump.
“This whole thing disgusts me, Hillary Clinton should be put in the firing line and shot for treason,” Baldasaro insisted.
Speaking Wednesday with NH1 News, Baldasaro doubled down, refusing to step back from his remarks, saying, “I’m a veteran. And any other veteran that had a server of classified information, people’s names and things like that, you’re putting other veterans life in danger, and state department workers, special forces, CIA or whatever, in danger. That’s treason. My military mind believes it’s treason,†Baldasaro said.
“Normally if you’re found guilty, it’s a firing squad. You know that was just my opinion, I mean, as a veteran,†he concluded.
The Trump campaign was forced to issue a rare statement somewhat denouncing Baldasaro’s comments.
Trump spox on Baldasaro’s call for Clinton to be shot for treason: “No, of course Mr. Trump does not feel this way.”

“We’re incredibly grateful for his support, but we don’t agree with his comments,†Trump campaign spokesperson Hope Hicks said.

@Al_Baldasaro Sir, Your call for the execution of a presidential candidate is not worthy of your office or the discipline of a Marine
