Anti-Gay Hate Group Leader Again Impacts Republican National Committee Platform

Republican National Committee subcommittee members Monday voted to approve a plank embracing the use of harmful anti-LGBT conversion therapy, after it was introduced by the head of a certified anti-gay hate group. The plank will be voted on by a committee and then all RNC voting members before becoming an official part of the 2016 platform.

Family Research Council president Tony Perkins (photo, left), an RNC delegate, Monday morning met with RNC chair Reince Priebus, reportedly to discuss including the call to support medically dangerous efforts that claim to change a person’s sexual orientation.

Several states have banned the practice among minors, and at least one court has labeled the practice consumer fraud. The American Medical Association and most other multi-national medical organizations have denounced the practice as well.

Earlier Monday morning subcommittees voted for amendments that call for to the Bible being taught in schools, and transgender people to use the restroom of the gender they were assigned at birth, and voted to keep a call for a ban on same-sex marriage in their 2016 national platform.

Americans Who Believe Trump’s Spin on Coronavirus Will Get ‘What They Deserve’: Former Ebola Czar

Published

President Donald Trump’s credibility deficit is coming into play as Americans wonder whether to listen to his debunked claims or facts from medical experts on the COVID-19 coronavirus epidemic.

Former U.S. Ebola response coordinator Ron Klain, who was known as the “Ebola Czar,” was interviewed Friday evening by Ali Velshi on MSNBC’s “The Last Word.”

Klain said the administration was facing a “crisis of both confidence and competence.”

“On the confidence side, anyone who believes what Donald Trump says kind of gets what they deserve at this stage of the game,” he argued. “But the problem is, the administration has silenced the people we can trust.”

“We can’t trust our president and the people we can trust aren’t being allowed to tell us the truth,” he noted.
