This 35 Second Video of Stephen Colbert as ‘Hunger Games’ Host Slamming Donald Trump Is Everything

‘It Is My Honor to Hereby Launch and Begin the 2016 Republican National Hungry for Power Games!’

Over the weekend Stephen Colbert apparently snuck into the Quicken Loans Arena ahead of today’s launch of the Republican National Convention in Cleveland, and took the opportunity to slam and mock Donald Trump and Mike Pence – and it took only 35 seconds to do so.

Posing as Caesar Flickerman, the host of the “Hunger Games,” Colbert at the RNC podium announces that Donald Trump “has formed an alliance with Indiana Gov. Mike Pence,” at which point he pretends to fall asleep, presumably from the boredom of the Indiana governor.

“Sorry, I blacked out there for a moment,” he quips.

Colbert then announces, “it is my honor to hereby launch and begin the 2016 Republican National Hungry For Power Games!”

A security guard then boots “Flickerman” from the stage, at which point Colbert utters what may be the most insightful take on the entire Republican National Convention.

“I know I’m not supposed to be up here — honest, neither is Donald Trump.”

Raw Story’s Arturo Garcia posted this video by Chris Morales, along with this tweet by Colbert:
