Queen Blasts Trump’s ‘Unauthorized’ Use of ‘We Are the Champions’ at GOP Conference

Iconic British Rock Band’s Late Leader Was A Gay Man Who Died of Complications From AIDS

Monday night Donald Trump made a dramatic entrance onto the stage of the Republican National Convention, with a strong light shadowing his entrance and the music of the iconic British rock band Queen playing, “We Are the Champions.”

Now, Queen is denouncing the use of their song as “unauthorized.”

The use of a British song by a gay man who died of complications from HIV by Trump at the RNC did not go unnoticed by others as well.

It’s not the first time Trump has been slammed for using something without permission (not to mention his wife Melania’s speech plagiarizing Michelle Obama).

In May, the Rolling Stones issued a statement saying they “have never given permission to the Trump campaign to use their songs and have requested that they cease all use immediately.”

Since the start of his campaign, Neil Young, R.E.M.’s Michael Stipe, Aerosmith, Adele, Elton John, and possibly others have objected to the Trump campaign’s use of their copyrighted material without authorization.

The Star-Telegram reports it is “unclear if the unauthorized use will have legal ramifications.”
