Coward Donald Trump Lies About Presidential Debates – Is He Afraid to Debate Hillary Clinton?
Of Course He Is!
Donald Trump spent the better part of Friday night scrambling to get back in the spotlight after the Democratic National Convention  blew even conservatives’ minds over how great it was – and how much better it was than their own. At one point Trump, who some are accusing of violating the Logan Act after he called on Russia to hack Hillary Clinton’s email account – demanded (in a grossly misspelled tweet) his Democratic opponent not receive classified national security intelligence briefings, something over 150,000 people have demanded about Trump.
Trump also posted a ludicrous, previously-tweeted image of himself as Thomas the Tank Engine:
“@patrioticpepe: @realDonaldTrump ONLY TRUMP CAN UNITE AMERICA AND FIX OBAMA’S MISTAKES!!! #Trump2016 pic.twitter.com/yB72Bm2muM“
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) July 30, 2016
And then there was this lying tweet:
As usual, Hillary & the Dems are trying to rig the debates so 2 are up against major NFL games. Same as last time w/ Bernie. Unacceptable!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) July 30, 2016
If Trump actually bothered to check, or knew anything about the American political system, he would know that the presidential debates are not scheduled by the Democratic Party, but by the Commission on Presidential Debates, an independent bi-partisan commission that has been doing so since 1988. He would also know the schedule was agreed upon by both parties last year.
But Trump, whose on-stage performances against his fellow Republicans were often mediocre, may be scared to debate Hillary Clinton, who excels in that arena.
Sure, having the debates run against major NFL games is moronic, but rather than post a false, accusatory, lying tweet, any responsible leader would have their campaign reach out to their opponents and to the Commission on Presidential Debates to ask for the debate schedule to be changed.Â
Irresponsible “leaders” work to sow mistrust in the system, then present themselves as the only ones who can fix it. All that accomplishes is to create an angry electorate who are misinformed and will ultimately fight against what they wrongly believe is a “rigged system,” or a system rigged by the wrong parties.
So maybe Trump does know what he’s doing, but what he’s doing is literally tearing America apart.
