‘Nothing to See Here, Let’s Move On’: Trump Advisor Says Trump’s Anti-Semitic Tweet Not Anti-Semitic

‘There Was Never Any Intention of Any Anti-Semitism’

An advisor to the Donald Trump campaign denies the anti-Semitic meme Trump tweeted Saturday morning was anti-Semitic, despite the fact it originated on a neo-Nazi white supremacist message board and on a Twitter page that reportedly tweets violent and racist memes.

“This is one of those ‘nothing to see here.’ Let’s move on and talk about real issues like Hillary Clinton’s three-hour interview with the FBI on Saturday,” Trump advisor Ed Brookover told CNN’s “New Day” host Alisyn Camerota. “We corrected it. There was never any intention of any anti-Semitism,” Brookover insisted.

Brookover also insisted anti-Semitic memes merely “float around the internet.”

On Saturday, at around 6:30 in the morning, presumptive GOP nominee Donald Trump tweeted an image of Hillary Clinton atop a bed of $100 bills, next to the Star of David, with the words, “Most Corrupt Candidate Ever!”

It was quickly denounced as anti-Semitic, so much so that in a rare move, Trump deleted it and replaced it with one slightly less offensive.

“Not every six-sided star is a Star of David,’ Brookover said, falsely, ignoring the meme’s origin and the fact its creator’s logo reportedly had been edited out. “There is no intent here at all. We corrected this tweet and have moved on.”

While it’s nice to know the Trump campaign has “moved on,” many in America have not. It must be stated clearly and without hesitation that this completes Trump’s ties to the far right wing of the GOP, the anti-Semites, the neo-Nazis, and the white supremacists. They are now one and the same.
