UPDATED – Streaming Video: 3 Police Officers Dead in Baton Rouge – No Active Shooters Now

One Suspect Dead 

Three police officers from the Baton Rouge Police Department and the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office in Louisiana responding to reports of a “suspicious person walking down Airline Highway with an assault rifle” were shot dead late Sunday morning, according to CNN and other reports. 

Initial reports stated seven other people were shot, but that number has been lowered to three. The degree of their injuries is not yet known.

The number of shooters is unclear, there may be one or more, and it’s unclear if they have been caught.

Local Rep. Edward James on MSNBC at 12:16 PM EDT stated there may be as many as three shooters, and possibly four officers dead, but MSNBC’s Ari Melber stressed that is unconfirmed.

AP reports one shooter is dead, 3 injured. Still developing.

Federal ATF officials are already on the scene.

Sheriff’s Office released this statement, confirms they believe “two others may be at large.”
