Father of Orlando Terrorist: My Son and I Are ‘Victims’ of ISIS (Video)

Terrorist’s Father Says Nightclub Should Have Had Better Security, Congress Should Try to Destroy ISIS

The father of the man who committed the deadliest terror attack on U.S. soil since 9/11, the deadliest mass shooting in America’s history, and the deadliest anti-LGBT hate crime Wednesday morning said he and his son are victims of ISIS. He also blamed Pulse nightclub, the site of the terror attack, for what he suggested was insufficient security, and Congress for not destroying ISIS.

Seddique Mateen, the father of the terrorist (NCRM will not use his name or photo unless necessary) has said in recent days he does not believe his son was gay (it’s undetermined and irrelevant if he was or was not), and said his son should have let god punish gay people.

“My son was killed by terrorists,” Mateen told reporters Wednesday morning from his home in Port St. Lucie, Florida. “Fifty people were killed by terrorism. This was a terrorist idea,” he claimed, adding that his son “learned from them.”

“My son, the [49] innocent people and the people that were injured, were all victims of terrorism,” Mateen said. “If there wasn’t a thing as ISIS, all the terrible acts … this would not have happened.”

He also blamed the owners of Pulse, the gay nightclub his son attacked early Sunday morning, for what he called “poor security.”

“Maybe they had some kind of sloppy security,” he said. “They should have good security,” adding security should have be ther 24 hours a day.

And he chastised Congress, suggesting they should think about destroying ISIS.

“They should eliminate and find a solution to get rid of the ISIS,” he said.

Admitting he “wasn’t aware” his son “was under the influence of this terror group,” Mateen told parents, “everyone should pay attention” to what their children are feeling, so “they don’t follow this ISIS.” He added that his son “was living on his own” and “had his own life.”

Continuing to caution parents, he said they “should watch their children…today my son, tomorrow yours.”

“I don’t want to torture myself,” he continued, referring to any signs he may have missed. “I did my best.”
