President Obama: Orlando Shooting ‘An Act of Terror and an Act of Hate’ (Video)

Obama Offers Condolences and Support to LGBT Community

President Barack Obama Sunday afternoon denounced the attack in Orlando, Florida as “an act of terror and an act of hate.”

The president offered condolences and support to the LGBT community. He noted the nightclub in which 50 people were shot dead and 53 injured was “more than a night club, calling it a “place of solidarity and empowerment where people have come together to raise awareness, speak their minds, advocate for their civil rights, and live.”

The President called the attack a “sobering reminder” that an attack on any American group is “an attack on all of us.”

“As Americans we are united in grief, in outrage and in resolve to defend our people.”

“In the face of hate and violence, we will love one another.”
