Martin O’Malley Is Back, and He’s Taking on Trump and His Surrogates
On CNN’s “State of the Union” Sunday, Martin O’Malley slammed Donald Trump as an “unstable charlatan” in an exchange with former Arizona Republican Governor Jan Brewer.
“Donald Trump is a bigot. Donald Trump is a racist. Donald Trump in fact making fascist appeals,” the former Maryland governor told the panel. “That’s why many self respecting Republicans are not supporting Donald Trump for president,” he added.Â
“Donald Trump is an unstable charlatan who is appealing to the worst instincts in people, and I believe ultimately, the American people are going to reject that,” O’Malley, who exited the Democratic presidential race in February, said, adding, “this is not the party of Lincoln.”

In fact, a great many of the nation’s top Republican elected officials are finding it hard to endorse Trump, and those who have, like Speaker Paul Ryan, are also attacking the presumptive GOP nominee.
