Meg Whitman Compares Trump to Hitler, Mussolini

Billionaire Republican CEO Derides Speaker Paul Ryan for Endorsing Trump

Meg Whitman on Friday attacked Donald Trump, likening him to fascist dictators including Adolf Hitler and Benito Mussolini. The former CEO of eBay who now heads tech giant Hewlett-Packard, Whitman is a major GOP donor and unsuccessfully ran for governor of California against Democrat Jerry Brown.

Whitman, at Mitt Romney’s annual Experts and Enthusiasts summit, directly challenged House Speaker Paul Ryan “over his decision to support Trump,” Politico, citing two sources present at the closed door event, reports. “In framing the question, according to the sources, she compared Trump to past historical demagogues including Hitler and Mussolini.”

But not only did Whitman denounce Trump and deride Ryan, she went one step further.

Whitman, who is Chairwoman, CEO, and President of HP, indicated “that she would likely be supporting Hillary Clinton in November, according to multiple sources who were in the room,” according to ABC News.

A GOP donor told ABC News, “She posed the question, ‘Is it not reasonable to support Hillary Clinton?,’ given all the awful things Trump has said.”

Later, Whitman told ABC News, “I haven’t made that decision. We’ll see, get to the conventions, see who the vice presidential picks are. And then I will make that decision.”

In 2013 Whitman joined 74 Republicans in signing an amicus brief asking the Supreme Court to overturn Prop 8.
