Fox News Headline: ‘LGBT Crowd Eyes Preschool Children’

Are There No Depths Too Low for Fox News and Laura Ingraham?

Fox News just published an article titled, “LGBT Crowd Eyes Preschool Children.” The title alone reeks of the right wing fanaticism from yesteryear (that sadly, still exists today) that claims gay people are pedophiles. 

The article is republished from Lifezette, a website headed by Fox News contributor Laura Ingraham (photo), and is written by Deirdre Reilly. 

It attacks a “new web series called ‘Queer Kids Stuff’ aimed at preschoolers (yes, you read that right) [that] is now attempting to teach those barely out of diapers what the phrases ‘gay,’ ‘bisexual,’ and ‘transgender’ mean,” Reilly writes. It’s actually a write up from a Huffington Post piece Reilly doesn’t even link to. It goes on to suggest that preschoolers across the country may be watching the videos at school, although there is actually zero reason to think so. Even Reilly is forced to admit the entire premise of her piece is a fabrication:

“Although no U.S. preschool programs have indicated yet that they will embrace the series, it may only be a matter of time.”

Right wing ignorant fear-mongering at its worst – not to mention, why should children not know what words like “gay” are, when they see LGBT people every day?

The article goes on to quote Sean Ryan, “communications director of the pro-family organization Mass Resistance.” 

“Activists are trying to force these topics on younger and younger children because that is the only way their movement wins,” he said.

“Rational adults don’t buy into the so-called ‘Queer Theory’ or transgenderism. Unfortunately, children are a soft target for homosexual activists as they are malleable and still learning about the world.”

Mass Resistance, of course, is on the Southern Poverty Law Center’s list of anti-gay hate groups, but why would Laura Ingraham hold her “journalists” to a standard of telling the truth to which she doesn’t hold herself (have you seen her Twitter page?)

The entire article, including what it’s trying to imply, is disgusting. But that’s the type of business Laura Ingraham and Fox News have decided to run. Go figure.
