Britain Votes to Leave European Union: What Does It Mean for US?

It Means Britain Just Embraced Its Inner Donald Trump

The people of Britain have just voted to leave the European Union. Not all the votes have been counted but the results are clear. What does Brexit mean for U.S. politics?

A lot.

First of all, it means that Donald Trump’s ideology won over Hillary Clinton’s and that’s a scary thought. It means the politics of hate, xenophobia, nationalism, homophobia, and bigotry trumped facts and financial data that proves leaving the EU is not in their best interests.

It means fear won. 

It means Donald Trump could win here, and whatever happens tomorrow to markets in the U.S. and around the world (they are will continue to tumble,) the long term effects are worse. 

The only hope is if Britain regrets its mistake and Americans see what a disaster it has caused. 

Time will tell, hold on to your hats.
