UPDATING: Mass Shooting at Florida Gay Nightclub Leaves 50 Dead, Over 50 Injured

Orlando Mayor reveals 50 people have been shot and killed, and more than 50 injured, at Pulse, a gay nightclub.

The suspect has been named as Omar S. Mateen. Police reportedly shot him dead.

Police reporting their SWAT team rescued at least 30 people from within the nightclub. 

This would be the largest deadliest mass shooting in American history, CNN’s Jake Tapper tweeted.

UPDATE I: 10:49 AM EDT –

“We are investigating this from all points of perspective as an act of terrorism,” said Special Agent Danny Banks, who’s in charge of the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, the Huffington Post reports. “Any time we have potentially dozens of victims in any of our communities then I think we can qualify that as terrorism activity. Whether that is domestic terrorism activity or an international one is certainly something that we will get to the bottom of.”

About 320 people were inside the nightclub at around 2 AM.

UPDATE III: 11:02: AM EDT –
Father of the suspect, Omar Mateen, who was 29, said “that Mateen had become very angry after he saw two men kissing in downtown Miami two months ago. The father said he believes that incident may have led to his actions, according to NBC News,” BNO News reports.
