After More Than 24 Hours Democrats Stop Protest

For almost 26 hours House Democrats held a sit-in and protest to demand the Republican majority allow a vote on gun control. That has just ended. Republicans, led by Speaker Paul Ryan, called the attempt to save some of the lives of the more than 30,000 people killed by gun violence annually, a “political stunt.”
