Sanders Tells Supporters He Will Work With Clinton to Defeat Trump, Will Take Campaign to Convention

Sanders Addressed Supporters Thursday Night, Does Not Give Any Indication He Plans to Concede

Senator Bernie Sanders Thursday night told supporters via livestream video, “the political revolution must continue.”

“Election days come and go. But political and social revolutions that attempt to transform our society never end. They continue every day, every week and every month in the fight to create a nation of social and economic justice,” Sen. Sanders told about 100,000 watching live on YouTube and his website.

“That’s what this campaign has been about over the past year. That’s what the political revolution is about and that’s why the political revolution must continue into the future.”

“Our vision for the future for this country is not some fringe idea,” he said, noting that “millions of Americans” want to see this change.

The Vermont Senator said the people who voted for him overwhelmingly are 45 and younger, and they are “the future of our country.”

Sanders thanked “workers earning starvation wages,” along with students and seniors for their donations, which he said, averaged $27.

“Thank you, and we must continue working together in the future.”

“We cannot have a president who insults Mexicans, Muslims,” and other minorities, Sanders said.

“We must make certain that Donald Trump is defeated, and defeated badly.”

“We must take that energy into the Democratic National Convention,” he said, “where we will have more than 1900 delegates.”

Sanders said he looks forward in the coming weeks, “in a very short period of time,” to continue talking with the Clinton campaign, so the Democratic platform is the most progressive ever.
