‘Climate Change Is Real, Love Is Love’: President Obama Slow Jams the News With Jimmy Fallon (Video)

‘First Ever Presidential Double Mic Drop’

President Barack Obama was Jimmy Fallon’s guest on NBC’s “The Tonight Show” Thursday, and celebrated his accomplishments by slow-jamming the news. As the President spoke of the advances he and his administration have made, Fallon narrated as only he can, while The Roots offered the perfect musical backdrop.

Obama took a walk through his time as President, starting with taking office as the economy was in shambles, and creating millions of jobs, bringing unemployment to under 5%, extending health care to an additional 20 million people, and extending marriage to same-sex couples.

“In short, climate change is real, health care is affordable, and love is love,” Pres. Obama said.

The bit included, as Jimmy Fallon teased out earlier in the afternoon, the “First ever Presidential double mic drop.”

Fallon, singing, asked Obama, “Mr. President since you’re here I’ve got to ask: Have you been watching all the election coverage this week about Donald Trump?”

“No, but I have been watching my new favorite show: Orange Is Not the New Black,” the President deadpanned, telegraphing a message to Donald Trump.

Perfect.

Oh, and yeah, Madonna was on too

The President also sat and chatted with Fallon, who asked him, “Do you think the Republicans are happy with their choice?”

“We are,” the President mocked.
