White House Slams Texas Lt Gov Outraged Over Transgender Directive as ‘A Right Wing Radio Host’

Press Secretary Josh Earnest Takes Swing at Republican Dan Patrick’s Off-the-Rails Comments

White House Press Secretary Josh Ernest Friday afternoon took a swing at Texas Lt. Governor Dan Patrick, calling the Tea Party Republican “a right-wing radio host” – which he actually is. Earnest was defending the administration’s new policy protecting transgender students from discrimination.

Asked about Patrick’s comments, which included biblical references and a charge the Obama administration is “blackmailing” Texas,  Earnest reminded reporters at the daily press briefing, “I think this does underscore the risk of electing a right-wing radio host to a statewide office.” Patrick does have a second job, as a right-wing radio host.

In addition to instructing all school districts to disregard the White House directive, Patrick told reporters Friday morning, “I believe it is the biggest issue facing families and schools in America since prayer was taken out of public schools.”

President Barack Obama “can keep his 30 pieces of silver,” Patrick added, referring to what Judas was paid to betray Jesus Christ, according to the Christian bible. “We will not yield to blackmail from the president of the United States.”
