Remember How ESPN Fired Curt Schilling Over An Anti-Trans Meme? Even Fox Sports Won’t Touch Him Now.

So Many Assumed Fox News’ Sports Division Would Welcome Schilling, but That’s Not the Case

Former MLB great turned sports analyst Curt Schilling got the boot two weeks ago for sharing on Facebook a disgusting anti-trans meme, then making ugly comments on it. He even claimed he hadn’t posted it to Facebook, although sharing it seems equally offensive. It didn’t take long for ESPN to fire him, stating, “Curt Schilling has been advised that his conduct was unacceptable and his employment with ESPN has been terminated.”

Now Deadspin says that even Fox Sports won’t touch him.

“Fox Sports, the most obvious destination, doesn’t want him,” Deadspin’s Samer Kalaf reports.

We were approached by Curt’s camp this week and passed,” a Fox spokesperson told Deadspin. “We’re very happy with the group we have working baseball this season.”

Before ESPN canned the former baseball great, Schilling’s son wrote a heart-felt post supporting his dad on Facebook, saying his dad tries to be open-minded.

Well. Now that Schilling doesn’t have to worry about what his employer thinks, his Facebook page is a disgusting montage of right-wing, anti-Democratic, anti-immigrant, anti-Islam, and anti-Black Lives Matter memes. It’s a cornucopia of filth.
