Supporters Of NC Anti-LGBT Law HB2 Protest By Holding Supposed Mugshots of Supposedly Trans People
Cite Leviticus, Call LGBT People and Allies the ‘Devil’
Asheville, North Carolina Saturday morning featured dueling protests – those opposed to Governor Pat McCrory‘s anti-LGBT law HB2 faced off against supporters of the unconstitutional ordinance, members of Keep NC Safe.
The anti-LGBT protestors “unfurled a massive banner bearing the alleged mugshots of trans people as they faced down chanting LGBT activists across a downtown Asheville street,” Joe Jervis at Joe.My.God. reports. “It’s not yet known what crimes the depicted trans people are accused of having committed, but the message, obviously, is that since some trans people have been arrested in the past, none deserve the civil rights already guaranteed to the followers of White Jesus, not one of whom has ever been arrested.”
Asheville-based photographer and independent journalist Max Cooper on Twitter reported those who support Gov. McCrory’s anti-LGBT law quoted Leviticus and compared LGBT people to the devil:
