BREAKING: Mississippi Democrats Enact Procedural Move To Hold Anti-LGBT From Governor’s Desk – For Now
Democratic Lawmakers Forcing Another Vote on HB 1523
A legislative tactic is blocking HB 1523 from reaching the governor’s desk today. Mississippi Democrats have invoked a procedural move which forces a vote on the bill, despite it clearing both chambers this week, most recently Friday morning.
The move will hold the bill until a vote Monday, allowing activists and others to contact the governor and hopefully convince him, as they did in Georgia this week, to veto the highly-discriminatory bill.
