Trump Won Every County in New York State Except His Own – Manhattan
GOP Voters in Manhattan Sent Their Own Brash, Bombastic Billionaire a Strong Message Tuesday Night
Donald Trump was a huge winner in Tuesday’s New York primary, except on his home turf. In every county in the Empire State, Republican voters chose the GOP frontrunner – except in Manhattan, where they chose John Kasich. It is truly a stunning blow to the blowhard billionaire.
“With the 99 percent of precincts reporting in Manhattan, Ohio Gov. John Kasich pulled off a small upset over the Republican front-runner with 45.2 percent to Trump’s 41.8 percent in the borough,” ABC News reports.
(We should note that technically, Manhattan is officially named New York County.)
Wednesday night at Trump Tower in Manhattan, where Trump makes his home and runs his campaign, he delivered a more reserved speech, but told supporters, “I have to say to the people that know me the best – the people of New York – when they give us this kind of a vote it’s just incredible.”
Yes, indeed, the people who know him best, chose Kasich – and Hillary Clinton. In Trump Tower, 23 people voted for Trump, 67 for Clinton.
Before the results were official, MSNBC reported on the possibility, that later became reality:
