GOP Congressman Who Wants War Against Mexico Calls Bruce Springsteen A ‘Bully’ For Canceling NC Gig

US Congressman From North Carolina Angered ‘The Boss’ Is Taking a Stand Against Anti-LGBT Law HB2

U.S. Congressman Mark Walker is angry Bruce Springsteen on Friday canceled a concert scheduled for Sunday in Greensboro, North Carolina, and he’s not mincing his words. Springsteen canceled the gig to protest North Carolina’s new anti-LGBT law, HB2, saying it was “the strongest means I have for raising my voice in opposition to those who continue to push us backwards instead of forwards.”

Walker, an ordained Southern Baptist preacher who represents part of North Carolina, responded by calling the New Jersey rock icon a “bully.”

“Bruce is known to be on the radical left,” Rep. Walker told The Hollywood Reporter, “and he’s got every right to be so, but I consider this a bully tactic. It’s like when a kid gets upset and says he’s going to take his ball and go home.”

“It’s disappointing he’s not following through on his commitments,” Walker added.

“We’ve got other artists coming soon — Def Leppard, Justin Bieber,” the freshman congressman said. “I’ve never been a Bieber fan, but I might have to go. Maybe artists who weren’t ‘born to run’ deserve a little bit more support.”

Walker insisted he’s not one to spew “inflammatory vitriol,” yet less than two months before he was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives, then-candidate Mark Walker told voters he would be happy to start a war against Mexico to protect America’s borders.

“I will tell you if you have foreigners who are sneaking in with drug cartels to me that is a national threat,” Walker told a Tea Party group in Sept. of 2014. “And if we got to go laser or blitz somebody with a couple of fighter jets for a little while to make our point, I don’t have a problem with that either. So yeah, whatever we need to do.”

When asked if he had “any qualms about starting up a little war with Mexico,” Walker replied, “We did it before. If we need to do it again, I don’t have a qualm about it.”
