Capitol Police Say Today’s Shooting Suspect Is Known to Them
Larry Dawson, 66, of Antioch, Tennessee, is well-known to Capitol Police. In October last year, Dawson entered the U.S. House of Representatives while it was in session, shouted, “I’m a Prophet of God,” the Daily Beast reports.

Monday afternoon, Dawson allegedly drew a gun while entering the U.S. Capitol Visitors’ Center. He was shot by Capitol Police, but not seriously injured. A bystander, an unidentified woman, was also injured by flying shrapnel.

Dawson currently is undergoing surgery.
