Gay GOP Group Finally Flips On Trump

Log Cabin Republicans Now Pushing Anti-Trump Ad

The Log Cabin Republicans today posted an ad demanding Donald Trump tell them where he stands on same-sex marriage. The gay GOP group as recently as December had been supportive of the Republican frontrunner, with their president proclaiming the brash billionaire is “one of the best, if not the best, pro-gay Republican candidates to ever run for the presidency.”

Yes, “Trump” and “pro-gay” in the same sentence, and it’s not the year 2000.

Log Cabin president Gregory T. Angelo even bragged that Trump has “been to a gay wedding,” and is “friends with George Takei,” as if somehow that made Trump “pro-gay.”

“His record doesn’t bear out that that would be an enemy to the gay community,” Angelo promised.

Last month Michelangelo Signorile called LCR’s claim Trump would be pro-gay, “deluded.”

Now, after embracing, albeit not officially endorsing Trump, the Log Cabin Republicans have released something of an attack ad, asking, “Where do you really stand on marriage equality, Mr. Trump?”

What’s stunning is their own clip shows over and over Trump stating he’s opposed.

It’s almost as if they felt forced to make the video so they could convince themselves just how wrong, how “deluded,” their position was.

So, in case there’s any question, Donald Trump is opposed to same-sex marriage, and he’s promised to pack the Supreme Court with justices who would overturn the Obergefell ruling.

Any questions. LCR?
