Donald Trump: My ‘Freedom of Speech Has Been Violated Totally’

Claims His Own Decision to Cancel Chicago Rally Violates His Freedom of Speech

Donald Trump Friday night announced he was canceling his rally in Chicago after reportedly thousands of protestors showed up. Trump falsely suggested that the Chicago Police Dept. advised him to cancel the event, and the police issued a statement refuting the allegation.

But Trump supporters, along with Ben Carson, and even Fox News’ Megyn Kelly, are claiming their First Amendment rights have been violated, displaying just how little they know about the Constitution:

Kelly on her Fox News show Friday night said, “all eyes for the moment are on Donald Trump and how he handles this situation in Chicago, where his First Amendment free speech rights have been shut down.”

Kelly clearly should take a look at the Constitution, as should Ben Carson:

Trump also says his freedom of speech has been violated.

“We made a decision, even though our freedom of speech has been violated totally, we made a decision not to go forward,” Trump told CNN’s Don Lemon Friday night. “I don’t want to see anybody get hurt. So I made the decision in conjunction with law enforcement not to do the rally, we postponed it.”

“It’s a little bit sad when you can’t have a rally in a major city in this country,” Trump told MSNBC’s Chris Matthews. “What ever happened to freedom of speech? What ever happened to the right to get together?”

Later on Fox News, Trump said America “is totally divided. In many ways it’s divided, and one of the ways it’s divided is white-black. We have so many different sets of divisions and hopefully we’ll be able to bring it together. I’m a unifier. President Obama has not been a unifier, he’s been a divider. I’m a unifier, I’ll bring people together.”

Trump on Fox News’ Hannity also made similar remarks:
