Breaking: Trump Campaign Denies Lewandowski Assaulted Protester, States Rallies Are ‘Private Events’

Trump Camp Responds to Video of Campaign Manager Grabbing Protester

The Trump campaign Saturday night denied its manager, Corey Lewandowski, grabbed a protester despite video that appears to show him and a man identified by a political reporter as a private security guard of Trump’s both grabbing the young man.

The statement pins the blame on the security guard, whom the campaign does not identify as working for the campaign. It also, curiously, states that Trump campaign events “are private events paid for by the campaign,” which would suggest they might believe they have the right to assault attendees.

The statement was posted to Twitter by Jacqueline Alemany, who also posted the video that appears to show Lewandowski assaulting the protester.
