UPDATING: Ted Cruz Wins Kansas, Is Beating Donald Trump In Early Results For Maine

Tea Party Texas Senator Also Wins CPAC Strawpoll

Editor’s note: See updates below

Ted Cruz‘s campaign isn’t over yet. The Texas Tea Party Republican Senator who took three states on Super Tuesday is doing exceptionally well in early results for the Kansas and Maine caucuses on “Super Saturday.”

NBC News reports Cruz has 49 percent in Kansas, with 39 percent counted, and he has 48 percent in Maine, with 7 percent counted.

Trump in Kansas has just 25 percent, and in Maine has 35 percent.

Cruz was expected to do well in both states, which are caucuses and not primaries. He has a much better ground game, which generally translates to better results in caucus scenarios.

GOP turnout by all accounts has been huge in both states.

Cruz also just won the Conservative Political Action Convention (CPAC) straw poll with 40 percent. Marco Rubio came in second with 30 percent. Trump garnered just 15 percent.

Also today are:

Kansas Democratic Caucus

Louisiana Democratic and Republican Primaries

Maine Democratic Caucus

Nebraska Democratic Caucus.

We’ll update this post when results are final.
