Breaking: Speaker Paul Ryan Warns Trump He ‘Must Reject Any Group or Cause That Is Built on Bigotry’

Highest Ranking Republican in Office Chastises GOP Frontrunner for ‘Evasion and Games’

Republican Speaker of the House Paul Ryan moments ago held a press conference to denounce Donald Trump‘s refusal, if only momentary, to disavow and denounce the KKK and David Duke. The former Grand Wizard threw his support to the GOP frontrunner last week.

“If a person wants to be the nominee of the Republican Party, there can be no evasion and no games,” the Wisconsin Congressman announced. Although not mentioning Trump by name, Ryan began by lamenting that the national “conversation over the last few days has been about white supremacist groups.”

Appearing statesman-like, Ryan, the highest elected Republican in government and his party’s most recent former vice presidential nominee, issued a strong shot across the bow.

“They must reject any group or cause that is built on bigotry,” he insisted, apparently not realizing that in addition to white supremacist groups like the KKK, that call would also include a demand to reject groups like the National Organization For Marriage, the American Family Association, the Family Research Council, and many others.

In fact, in addition to denouncing racism and white supremacist groups, Rep. Ryan just denounced opposition to same-sex marriage, he denounced every anti-trans bill, every “religious freedom” bill, every RFRA, and every “pastor protection” bill in the state legislatures, along with the aforementioned anti-gay and hate groups.

“This party does not prey on people’s prejudices,” Ryan claimed. “We appeal to their highest ideals. This is the Party of Lincoln. We believe all people are created equal in the eyes of God and our government. This is fundamental, and if someone wants to be our nominee, they must understand this. I hope this is the last time I need to speak out on this race,” he concluded.
