Sanders Scores Huge Wins in Idaho and Utah

Senator Wins Democratic Caucuses Amid Huge Turnout

Bernie Sanders is the winner of the Idaho and Utah Democratic caucuses – and by huge margins. The Vermont Senator was expected to win both Tuesday night, but the question was going to be by how much. Hillary Clinton appeared to have written off Idaho, according to one local reporter she has not campaigned in the state.

With all the votes counted in Idaho, Sanders beat Clinton 78.04% to 21.21%. In Utah, with more than 60 percent of the votes in, Sanders won with 79.14% over Clinton’s 20.38%.

The Salt Lake Tribune called Sanders’ Utah win “an avalanche of a victory for the self-declared Democratic Socialist,” and labeled Clinton’s results “anemic.”

Clinton didn’t visit the state in the days leading up to the caucus vote nor did she buy any campaign advertising,” the Tribune adds.

Clinton and Trump won the Arizona primaries Tuesday night, and Ted Cruz won the Utah Republican caucuses.
