UPDATED: Ben Carson to Endorse Donald Trump

Failed GOP Candidate Who Proved Campaign Was Merely Money-Making Machine to Endorse GOP Frontrunner

If he wants it, he can probably have it.

That’s the message Ben Carson sent to Donald Trump today about getting his endorsement. Carson suggests Ted Cruz is a possibility, but Trump it probably is.

Dr. Carson told Fox News Radio (audio) he is “willing to be an advisor to anyone who is going to have a significant effect on the future of our nation,” and is “considering seriously” supporting someone’s campaign, Bloomberg News reports.

Carson said he’s “certainly leaning” toward endorsing Trump, adding there are actually “two” Donald Trumps.

“There’s the Donald Trump that you see on television and who gets out in front of big audiences, and there’s the Donald Trump behind the scenes. They’re not the same person. One’s very much an entertainer, and one is actually a thinking individual.”

As far as we know it’s illegal to pay for or receive money for an endorsement.

On March 2 Carson announced he saw no path forward to the White House but was refusing to end or suspend his campaign because supporters were still willing to donate. On March 4, still officially a candidate for President, Carson announced he was taking a new job. Only later that day did the Carson campaign announce the candidate was officially dropping out.
