Ted Cruz Pulls Ad Featuring Softcore Porn Actress (Video)

Religious ‘Consistant Conservative’ Cruz Campaign Used Actress Who Starred In Films Including ‘Erotic Confessions’

Ted Cruz‘s entire presidential campaign is based on the image he has created that he is a servant of Christ, a devout Christian, and a “consistent conservative.” The front page of his campaign website features a section titled “National Prayer Team,” and the campaign ad right below it reads: “Protected the Ten Commandments.”

But it’s another campaign ad that’s getting attention this week: “Conservatives Anonymous,” which Buzzfeed first reported includes a “softcore porn star.”

“Amy Lindsay has appeared in films such as Erotic Confessions, Carnal Wishes, Secrets of a Chambermaid, and Insatiable Desires,” Buzzfeed’s Andrew Kaczynski and Christopher Massie report.

Lindsay, a Republican and Christian conservative, told Buzzfeed she thinks it’s “cool” that she’s appearing in a Ted Cruz ad.

“In a cool way, then hey, then it’s not just some old, white Christian bigot that people want to say, ‘It could be, maybe, a cool kind of open-minded woman like me,’” she said of people supporting Cruz.

“Had the campaign known of her full filmography, we obviously would not have let her appear in the ad,” a Cruz campaign spokesman told BuzzFeed News. Lindsay, Buzzfeed says, “emphasized that she did not do hardcore porn and that she also appeared in non-erotic films.”

The Cruz campaign has since pulled the video. 

In the ad, Lindsay portrays a voter in a group therapy session, talking to a Marco Rubio supporter lamenting his choice.

“Maybe you should vote for more than just a pretty face next time,” she says. It ends with the standard, “I’m Ted Cruz, and I approve this message.”
